The Pitchmark

The Pitchmark is a local golf community website where golf enthusiasts have a place to write, share opinions and gather together. I was asked to develop a simple logo that would give the website a little identity and a mark to use for additional promotional collateral.

The brief was pretty explicit on this task and The Pitchmark guys were pretty clued up as to what they were after, which is always a great position to be in. For example they had strict requirements to stick to the green and brown colour palette of The Pitchmark's existing marketing material and the founders were also very keen to have a two tone quality to the logo. I felt it was important to include the image of a golfer as the term 'Pitchmark' may not initially have golfing connotations to everyone.
The development process involved sourcing the above requirements by meeting with the guys and also asking them to complete a creative brief document. From this point I was then in a position to get the sketch book out and work through a few ideas. Upon working through a viable design I then used Adobe Illustrator to work up a scalable logo and submit the drafts to the founders.
