After the Daily Mail & General Trust acquired Jobsite in 2004 AND had a great ally in which to help it dominate the fiercely competitive online recruitment market. London Jobs was developed with the sole aim to help conquer this digital space by leveraging the vast audience of This is London, helping it become the recruitment site of choice for London and the Home counties.

From the start of the project we paid particular attention to the market leaders in the recruitment space and the things they were doing right. It was great to be able to pick the brains of our new colleagues over at Jobsite in this respect and it gave us crucial insight into adopting certain techniques and feature sets that were fast become standards in digital recruitment.
The main goal was to get the user up and running with the site as quickly as possible - we didn't want to get in the way of the user completing their objective(s) on the site and getting that new job! We spent a lot of time ensuring that we were displaying interfaces that users expected to see - with a minimal learning curve - sympathetic to their established mental models.
London jobs now supports over 600,000 registered candidates with unique users topping nearly 250,000 every month.
